Back home from 3 fantastic weeks in Morocco. Such spectacular scenery, from sweeping desert dunes and camels to high mud walls of the Kasbahs, oases, rocky stony cliffs in red, grey or granite green, flat same-same yellow lands, cedar forests, juniper and prickly pear, peppercorn trees, goats up trees to eat the argan oil seeds, donkeys, mules, skinny cats, Berber folk in their beautiful blue robes – around every corner another spectacular scene. All the colour and crush of the Marrakesh night market, all the serenity of the sunset over the High Atlas or the Saharan dunes, then the laid back seaside town of Essaouira, with its Gnawa music scene and wind surfing and kites. I could go on, but I’ll stop there. Still need time to let it all settle over me. Three intense weeks of this and now back to the grind of work. Oh well, I wouldn’t have made it there without the pay packet from work!
